Short Take: Rivals.com gets $35 million investment

Online sports network Rivals.com has received a $35 million investment from Softbank Capital Partners. The Seattle, Wash.-based company last month acquired AllianceSports, a Web network of unofficial sites for Southern college athletics teams. In December, the company made a content-sharing deal with FoxSports.com. Softbank joins Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Intel and News Corp.'s News Digital Media, which have previously taken stakes in Rivals.com.
