Short Take: New site, cable channel for women to launch

An assistant managing editor for Business Week has joined Oxygen Media to help launch a finance, business, and career Web site, in conjunction with a 24-hour cable television network, targeted at women. The site will launch in mid-1999 and the network is set to go live in 2000. Oxygen is led by the former president of Disney-ABC Cable Networks, as well as the company that created the sitcom 3rd Rock From the Sun and Oprah Winfrey.
