Short Take: Net tax bill held up in Senate

A bill to temporarily halt taxes on Net access or services almost made it to the Senate floor, but Sen. Bob Graham (D-Florida) blocked it for the second time this month. The Senate voted 89-6 in favor of Sen. John McCain's (R-Arizona) motion for a cloture--to allow consideration of the Internet Tax Freedom Act. McCain is calling for another cloture vote October 1--if it passes, the Senate could finally debate the bill.
