MP3.com reported a smaller-than-expected loss last quarter, beating Wall Street expectations. The Net music download site posted a pro forma net loss of 13 cents per share on revenues of $17.5 million for the quarter ending March 31, 2000, compared with a loss of 17 cents per share a year earlier. The Street expected MP3.com to post a 16-cent loss, according to First Call consensus estimates.
