Short Take: House committee passes Net tax bill

A three-year moratorium on new or "discriminatory" taxes on Net access and services is one step closer to passage with the House Judiciary Committee's approval of the Internet Tax Freedom Act. The bill is now set for a full House vote next week. A separate bill is moving through the Senate that imposes a six-year moratorium, and unlike the House bill, it doesn't "grandfather" existing Net taxes.
