Short Take: High-tech execs appointed to COPA Commission

House Democratic Leader Richard Gephardt said three high-tech executives have been appointed to the Child Online Protection Act (COPA) Commission, charged with studying methods of restricting minors' access to "harmful material" on the Internet. Named to the commission were James Schmidt, chief information officer at San Jose University; George Vradenburg, senior vice president for global and strategic policy at America Online; and Larry Shapiro, executive vice president of business development and operations at Disney's Buena Vista Internet Group.
