Short Take: Commerce Net privacy report delayed

The Commerce Department's report to President Clinton about the status of self-regulatory efforts to shield online privacy will not be released July 1 as planned. Instead, officials said it will be released in mid-July after the agency reviews public comments about its guidelines for effective self-regulation. The deadline for those comments is July 6.
