Short Take: Adult Japanese flocking to Net

There are 5.5 million Japanese over the age of 16 on the Internet, a 60 percent increase over the 3.5 million who used the Net in March, according to Nikkei Market Access. As reported in JapanBizTech, the research shows that male users far outnumber females, with women making up only 14.6 percent of the population on the Internet. This means that only 1.5 percent of the total female Japanese population over 16 years old is using the Internet.
