PointCast plans to expand its information services next week to include the latest results for all Summer Olympic events.

PointCast is advertising-supported software that delivers personalized reports of news stories, press releases, stock quotes, weather reports, and sports scores to Internet users. The Summer Games will be added to the news, weather, sports, and other channels, or categories of information, accessible to PointCast users.

The service will cull its Olympic news and information from wire dispatches such as Reuters and present a roundup of results, medal tallies, and daily television and event schedules. The Olympics channel will post continuous updates of results from 33 events to be held at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta, from July 15 through August.

Updated client software that includes the Olympic Channel is available from the company's Web site.
