Business software maker Manugistics said Monday that it has hired as its president Jeremy Coote, an industry veteran who has held executive positions at Siebel Systems and SAP. Coote reports directly to Manugistics CEO Greg Owens and fills a post that has been vacant since October, when former president Richard Bergmann resigned. In addition, he will assume the responsibilities of Jeff McKinney, who oversaw Manugistics' operations in the United States, Canada and Latin America before his resignation last month.

Before joining Manugistics, Coote had been general manager of Siebel's North American operations, and before that, he was president of SAP's U.S. subsidiary. Most recently, he was president of the North American operations of Cupertino, Calif.-based business applications maker Chordiant Software.
