Macromedia releases a new, faster version of its Dreamweaver MX 2004, its widely used Web-authoring application.

Macromedia released an update Friday for Dreamweaver MX 2004, the latest version of its widely used Web-authoring application. The update includes numerous performance enhancements that will enable the application run up to 50 percent faster on a Windows PC and 70 percent faster on Mac OS X, Macromedia said in a statement.

Macromedia released Dreamweaver MX 2004 late last year, touting features such as new cascading style sheet (CSS) tools and integration with Microsoft Office applications. The update is available now for download from Macromedia's Web site.
