Loudeye names new president

Digital media company Loudeye Technologies said it appointed David Weld president and chief operating officer. Weld was senior vice president and general manager of Loudeye's digital media services group. He will take over one of CEO John Baker's roles. Since March, Baker has played dual roles, acting as president and chief executive. Weld will also fill the vacant role of chief operating officer left by Dave Bullis, who resigned from the company in March for personal reasons, according to Loudeye. In April, the Seattle-based company cut 45 percent of its 300-employee work force and closed several offices in an effort to cut costs and integrate recent acquisitions.
