Microware will target its OS-9-based David operating system for devices that enable Internet access through televisions.
The company now says that it will target its OS-9-based David (digital audio/video interactive decoder) operating system for use in the emerging market for devices that enable Internet access through televisions. Microware's (MWAR) announcement coincides with Mitsubishi's today that it was using Microware's operating system in a new television that is Net-savvy.
The David OS is a multitasking, real-time operating system designed specifically for consumer applications. It is an open OS which allows content and network providers to store applications on any server, send them across any network, and run them on David-based network devices, according to the company.
