Kanye West joins Twitter, follows one man from Coventry

Rapper, producer and professional speech-intruder Kanye West has become the latest celebrity to join Twitter but curiously only follows one person.

But who could West's mysterious muse be? Beyoncé? Jay-Z? Maybe he's trying to make amends to Taylor Swift? In fact, it's none of these -- it's Steven Holmes, a Twitter user from glamorous Coventry whose page describes him as 'BOOM'.

West's verified Twitter account follows this seemingly random man alone, despite having nearly 400,000 followers himself. Upon discovering West was following him, Holmes tweeted:

To which West replied:

Holmes, previously an utterly obscure tweeter, saw his followers soar from 60 to 1,200 in a matter of hours once Kanye turned his eye on him. West gave no explanation for why he, of all people, should follow Holmes, but it seems to have been a name plucked from the ether.

Nonetheless, West seems interested in hearing what he has to say. When Holmes worried he had to tweet more interesting things now he was being followed by one of the biggest music stars in the world, West responded:
