The Internal Revenue Service is now orbiting cyberspace. A new Web site launched by the agency provides basic tax information, summaries of tax changes for 1995, tax forms, and descriptions of other IRS-sponsored electronic services.

Under the Taxpayer Help and Education section, site visitors can find simple summaries of 150 tax topics, along with a FAQ. A search feature lets users look for topics with keywords or via a site tree.

According to agency officials, the site will soon gain a tax-statistics section, a hypertext version of Your Federal Income Tax, and the IRS Newsstand.
