Intertainer turns on streaming in Cincinnati

Video-on-demand provider Intertainer and DSL (digital subscriber line) provider ZoomTown.com say they will stream Hollywood flicks and other entertainment content to ZoomTown's DSL subscribers through a video-on-demand service system. Beginning April 3, most of ZoomTown's customers in Cincinnati will be able to access Intertainer's content, featuring new film releases, classic movies, music videos, popular TV programs and full-length concerts. The video-on-demand service will be delivered via Microsoft's Windows Media Video 8. Last month, Intertainer announced a deal with Universal Studios Pay-Per-View that will give it access to Universal's new releases and its full catalog of older films. The Los Angeles-based company also offers entertainment content from its partnerships with Warner Bros., DreamWorks, Sony Music Group, 20th Century Fox and other entertainment companies. ZoomTown, which has more than 40,000 subscribers in Cincinnati, is a wholly owned Internet broadband subsidiary of communications provider Broadwing.
