NBC licenses new listing technology to put a new guide to its programs on its entertainment home page.

GIST Communications today agreed to license its online television listings technology to NBC, which will incorporate the guide into its entertainment home page so users can find out what's on the national network.

By clicking on the TV schedule at NBC's site, GIST's TV1 tool will offer NBC home page visitors hot links to NBC shows and information about the programs and their stars, the company said. Yet, the service will not tell you the lineups of the NBC's competitors.

GIST Communications, based in Manhattan, runs an online TV guide on its Web site and on CompuServe, through a separate licensing agreement, the company said.
