Netflix

Just as every Marvel fan is still blurry eyed from binge-watching the latest Marvel superhero installment "Luke Cage" over the weekend (at least once right?), Netflix releases a first look, date and new teaser trailer today for its next superhero series, "Iron Fist," debuting on March 17, 2017.

Marvel's "Iron Fist" is the fourth of four live-action adventure series on Netflix -- "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones" and "Luke Cage" so far -- that will eventually lead up to the ultimate team-up of the main characters in Marvel's "The Defenders." It too will be only on Netflix.

"Iron Fist" follows the story of billionaire Buddhist martial arts expert Danny Rand, played by Finn Jones, who returns to New York 15 years after being presumed dead in a plane crash. Rand is determined to reclaim his birthright and family business.

But his plans go haywire when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, and this living weapon is forced to choose between his family's legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist to fight corruption.

The first image released by Netflix today, above, shows Jones as Rand in full-on fight mode. Considering members of the "Iron Fist" cast will be rolling into New York Comic Con to promote the series on Saturday, October 8, here's hoping more video footage is on the way.
