Entertaindom signs deal with Net animation company

The Time Warner site enters into a strategic relationship with Pulse Entertainment to co-develop Web shows.

Entertaindom.com has entered into a strategic relationship with Pulse Entertainment to co-develop Web shows for the Time Warner site, the two companies said today.

As part of the deal, Entertaindom will invest in Pulse and create a Pulse Comix channel on its site. The companies will share revenues from merchandising, e-commerce and advertisements related to Pulse content.

The first collaborative project involves a cartoon series called "Marvin the Martian" that allows fans to interact with the characters, the companies said in a statement. Also on the horizon is a show called "Li'l Green Men," a weekly 3D comic adventure about two scouts from Pluto.

Based in San Francisco, privately funded Pulse develops tools and technology for creating animation on the Internet. The company has strategic alliances with NBC, Mattel, MTV, Intel, Electronic Arts, Excite@Home, DotComix and Broadband Sports.

Entertaindom is Time Warner's new media venture featuring "short-form" entertainment.
