EA takes "Majestic" step

Video and PC game publisher Electronic Arts on Tuesday launched a new online mystery/adventure game. In "Majestic," players must uncover clues hidden in Web pages, e-mail messages, phone calls, instant messages and other personalized contacts to unravel a far-reaching conspiracy. "We wanted to produce something that could compete with television in its storytelling but would not compromise interactivity in the process," said Neil Young, vice president of developer Anim-X and creator of "Majestic." The game will be episodic, with a new chapter of the story and corresponding clues delivered each month. The first episode is free, while subsequent chapters will cost $10 a month. More information is available on the "Majestic" Web site.
