Disney appoints lobbyist as CEO adviser

Chris Curtin, one of Walt Disney's key lobbyists, has been appointed special assistant of corporate synergy for the entertainment giant's chief executive, Michael Eisner. Curtin formerly served under Preston Padden, Disney's chief government lobbyist, as one the main players behind the company's aggressive efforts to urge federal regulation over America Online's merger with Time Warner. Curtin's new role will encompass cross-promotion and marketing activities for the company's entertainment and media businesses.
