4oD and Demand 5 come to Xbox Live
The two on-demand services are now on the console's online offering, ahead of BBC iPlayer hitting it next year. Get watching.
If you're signed up to Xbox Live, you'll now be able to watch telly-streaming services 4oD and Demand 5, thanks to a new update, Xbox officer Major Nelson announced last night. That's all the Neighbours and My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding you can handle, right on your console.
It's part of a swathe of new offerings from Xbox Live, though we won't bore you with details of what's on offer in other countries.
You'll be able to watch the likes of The Gadget Show and Extreme Fishing with Robson Green on Demand 5 through your Xbox 360, while 4oD brings shows like Fresh Meat and the superb This Is England '88. The BBC's iPlayer app will also reportedly launch on the service some time in 2012.
Earlier this month, LoveFilm and YouTube came to Xbox Live, following the update to the dashboard, expanding its streaming offerings no end.
The standalone LoveFilm site has just inked a deal with Sony to stream titles such as The Social Network and Salt, the Guardian reports. It's a multi-year deal, giving it exclusive web rights after companies such as Sky have shown them on their subscription services. The main advantage is it'll stop Netflix from showing them when it launches in the UK early next year.
Netflix just signed a deal with BBC Worldwide to stream shows like Fawlty Towers, Little Britain and more for its 2012 launch. It also has deals in place to show films from Miramax, Lionsgate and MGM.
