How to watch: Wednesday's Nintendo Direct may reveal that Overwatch is coming to Switch
The presentation will feature "roughly 40 minutes of information" on upcoming Switch games, including Pokemon Sword and Shield and Luigi's Mansion 3. And it seems like an Overwatch port announcement leaked early.
September's Nintendo Direct broadcast is happening on Wednesday, and it'll give us a preview of the Switch games coming for the rest of 2019, like Luigi's Mansion 3 and Pokemon Sword and Shield. The presentation will take place at 3 p.m. PT (6 p.m. ET/11 p.m. BST/8 a.m. Thursday AEST), and we've embedded it below for your convenience (or in case you want to sit and wait intently for the remaining hours).
It seems like one of the announcements leaked early -- Overwatch is coming to Switch on Oct. 18 (possibly Oct. 15 in the US), according to Kotaku. It isn't the first we've heard of this port either -- a listing for an official Overwatch-themed Switch pouch was uncovered last week. Blizzard's beloved shooter originally came out on PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2016, but it's added new content regularly since then.
Aside from Luigi's Mansion 3 and Pokemon Sword and Shield, which will hit Nintendo Switch on Oct. 31 and Nov. 15, respectively, we might learn more about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's upcoming additional character Banjo-Kazooie. The combo-character is supposed to join the brawler's roster this fall, following the addition of Dragon Quest 11's Hero in July.
Also hitting Switch this year are Daemon X Machina, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening remake (that's out on Sept. 20, the same day as the portable-only Switch Lite) and the aforementioned Dragon Quest 11. Check out our sister site GameSpot for more on Wednesday's livestream.
Nintendo didn't immediately respond to a request for comment about Overwatch.
