Pokemon Go Evolving Stars Event: Cosmoem, Bonuses and More

Pokemon Go is ushering in October with a cosmic-themed event called Evolving Stars. The event is underway until Oct. 11 and introduces a new Pokemon to add to your collection: Cosmoem. On top of that, the next leg of the Season of Light's Special Research story is now available, and there are new Collection Challenges and Field Research tasks to complete.

Here's everything you need to know about the event.

Event schedule

The Evolving Stars event begins Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. local time and runs until Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. local time.

How to get Cosmoem

A new Pokemon has arrived as part of the Evolving Stars event: Cosmoem, the first evolved form of Cosmog. You can obtain one by feeding your Cosmog 25 candies.

In addition to Cosmoem, a variety of Pokemon will be appearing in the wild and raid battles during the Evolving Stars event. You can see the full list below:

Other event features

Along with the featured Pokemon, the next leg of this season's Special Research story is now available. There are also new event-themed Field Research tasks and Collection Challenges to do. Complete these to earn Stardust, Mega Energy, evolution items and other rewards.

Finally, Pokemon Go is hosting a Mega Gyarados Raid Day mini-event on Oct. 8. You can encounter Mega Gyarados in raids from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time that day, giving you more opportunities to earn Gyarados Mega Energy. You'll also have an increased chance of encountering a shiny Gyarados, and gyms will be dispensing up to five free Raid Passes when you spin their Photo Discs.
