Legendary artist Vincent Van Gogh has received a contemporary makeover in this project that turns his self-portrait into a photograph.
Tadao Cern is an architect-turned-photographer from Lithuania who has previously has created a series of photos and videos showing faces being distorted by gusts from leaf blowers. This new project is a little more tame, and shows the world what Van Gogh may have looked like if he had access to a camera for his famous final self-portrait from 1889.
With the aid of a bearded friend, Cern decided to create a video out of a series of Photoshop manipulations that shows the original portrait being scratched away to reveal the photograph underneath.
