We've had plenty to shout about in the fashion laptop market recently. We've seen the crocodile skin Asus S6 and fondled the Ferrari-branded Acer 4000, but even those beauties pale in comparison to the oh-so-cute Tulip E-Go (pictured).
It's one of the most glamourous-looking laptops we've ever come across, and given its curvy chassis and striking resemblance to a handbag, it's not impossible that it might be aimed at women, or high-tech cross-dressers. It has a carrying strap so you can drape it from your shoulder, and its integrated camera has a 'mirror' function so you can apply just the right amount of mascara on your way to that 9 a.m. business meeting.
One of the best things about the E-Go is its changeable decorative skins, which form the outer shell of the laptop. Think of these as mobile phone fascias gone mental -- if you get bored of one colour, you simply slap on another. They come in leather, alcantara and spray-painted plastic, and are available in a variety of colours and textures.
You can also order a custom skin with your own design, or splash out on the ridiculous diamond-encrusted E-Go that'll make you the envy of your fashion-obsessed friends, as well as the target of every camp mugger within a four-mile radius.
The E-Go's not all about looks. These beauties run the latest AMD Turion 64 Mobile CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 12.1-inch widescreen display, and use the Windows XP Media Center Edition operating system. They even have a TV tuner card with an aerial integrated into the handbag strap, which is always a nice touch.
The E-Go is available via the Tulip Web shop for £2,724. This may seem a tad high -- but can you put a price on style? --RR
