We received some interesting speculation from readers regarding Apple's September 7th announcement (a special media event to take place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco), ranging from far-fetched wishes to calculated guesses.

"Is it finally a G5 PowerBook?" - Jeannie Tanny

"It's bound to be the video iPod (if it's iPod linked), or the upgraded/updated Powerbooks (if it's not)" -- Peter Ashworth

"Podcasting with Video." -- Douglas Todd Parker

"It's obvious ? the iTunes phone from Motorola." -- Gregg

"I'm fairly certain this refers to the Video iPod. The structure of their announcement hints at the fact that it changed your life when you could carry media in your pocket. Now, it appears they wish to alter our existence ever further with the introduction of video in our trousers? storage compartments." -- Ryan David

"Apple is partnering with Tivo?" -- David Clark

"It HAS to be the iPod phone, manufactured by Motorola! Someone where my partner works has been Beta Testing an iPod Phone. This model only had 128MB of storage for songs. I presume the production models will have more capacity (or a card slot for an SD or whatever)." -- Mark Handler

"My vote is for a video (i.e., QuickTime 7.0) iPod." -- Enrique Hicaro

"1000 songs In your car! Apple announces deal with auto-makers like Ford for pre-installed capabilities." -- Kent Laugen
