QuickSilver G4 and X-Rite Monitor Optimizer

Max Sa Leitao writes: "There's a problem with the new QuickSilver G4s and X-Rite's Monitor Optimizer where, after calibration, a square shade appears around the cursor and follows it around. The square seems to have retained the pre-calibration hue, making it stand out from the rest of the screen. I was told by X-Rite tech support that this is a known issue and that the problem is caused by a conflict with the NVidia driver. Until the next driver update, they suggest using the 'monitors' control panel to pick a different profile under 'Colors.' Of course, that gets rid of the square but you can't use the profile created by the optimizer."

Update: Chris Murphy writes: "This must be a problem unique to X-Rite Color Shop and the nVidia drivers, because I'm not having these problems on a QuickSilver G4 using either the Monitor Optimizer with Color Vision's Optical software, Color Vision's Monitor Spyder PhotoCal software, or Gretag Macbeth's Profile Maker Pro, or Gretag Macbeth's Eye One Monitor/Eye One Match."

Update: Several users now confirm the problem. Bill Bachman had problem even with a Profile Maker Pro.
