Apple's new Magic Mouse is an innovative input device, but a few people are having troubles understanding how it behaves and are frustrated by it not automatically connecting.

Unlike some other bluetooth devices, the mouse will go to sleep after disconnecting when either the computer or the mouse is moved out of range. When it enters standby, you cannot wake it by moving it or using the multi-touch surface, and only clicking the mouse will cause it to awaken again.

Perhaps Apple's accelerometers could be useful in revisions of the mouse, not only for making it easy to wake the mouse but also for enabling air motion pointing features such as those in the Gyration mouse.
