.Mac e-mail problems Yesterday, a problem manifested on the .Mac servers that caused e-mails to be bounced back from some accounts.

MacFixIt reader James Lyon writes "Several folk are reporting a problem as of 9/28, emails can be sent from a .Mac account, but if an email is sent to a .Mac account, the sender receives the message that the account is full and the message is bounced back."

At 10:00 am PDT yesterday, Apple posted the following message to its .Mac support site "A small number of customers were having difficulties receiving mail due to database issues. The sender of the email will receive a bounce-back claiming that the destination account is over quota. The issue is now resolved and mail should be delivered as expected."

iPod clip-holder may fall apart A few readers are reporting that under normal wear conditions, Apple's iPod clip-holder may disengage potentially resulting in damaging drop of the iPod.

MacFixIt reader Linda writes "I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but my 2nd generation 10GB iPod came with a black clip-on holder that I use all the time to attach to my belt while listening to the iPod--yesterday, the part that clips just fell off the holder. I caught the iPod before it hit the ground. It looks to me that the clip was just glued on in several dots. I am now thinking of buying a 3rd party protector/armband type of holder."

The simple suggestion from some users is to check your iPod clip-holder for weakness before using it.

How to set up a dual network: One port for LAN, on for Internet MacFixIt reader Dave Besade has posted instructions for establishing a "dual network" -- a process allowing users to separate their LAN (local network) traffic from their internet traffic in order to optimize their network and internet performance.
