New MacBook Pro and Mac Pro specs detailed ahead of WWDC?

A report details specs of new Mac Pro and MacBook Pro machines ahead of Apple's WWDC event this evening.

Apple could be poised to unveil three new versions of its Mac Pro computer, along with three new editions of the MacBook Pro, with bumped-up specs.

9to5Mac reports what we could be seeing later tonight, when Apple bods take the stage for the WWDC keynote. The Apple-centric site claims "reliable sources" have tipped the exact configurations for a lot of the new gear.

The Mac Pro, which is aimed at professional types who need to perform highfalutin tasks like video editing or photo wizardry, is reckoned to arrive in two normal options, the first sporting a 3.2GHz quad-core processor, 6GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive and an ATI Radeon 5770 graphics chip, and the second offering a 2.4GHz 12-core processor, 12GB of RAM, a 1TB hard drive and the same ATI graphics.

A server configuration is also rumoured, packing a 3.2GHz quad-core CPU, 8GB of RAM and two 1TB hard drives.

Meanwhile three newly specced versions of the MacBook Pro are due to emerge, alongside a rumoured 15-inch retina display model, the details of which are still secret.

Expect the beefed-up MacBook Pro to offer the same design as the current version, but come in both 13.3-inch and 15.4-inch sizes, and in a variety of configurations featuring 4 or 8GB of RAM and 500 or 700GB hard drives.

New MacBook Air models are also rumoured to make an appearance, along with a potential refresh for Apple's MagSafe connector and a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adaptor -- handy for the Ethernet-deprived MacBook Air.

The Apple Store is currently offline, which usually indicates new products are about to hit the Californian company's site. Stay tuned for all the news from WWDC tonight, and while you wait tell me what you'd like to see in the comments or on our Facebook wall.
