Nerf now makes a video camera-equipped RC battle-tank drone

Nerf's newest N-Strike Elite Terrascout RC Drone Blaster records video as it's launching darts.

Hasbro is pushing Nerf's radio-controlled toys into video-equipped territory.

Nerf has crawling robots that shoot foam things. Nerf has cameras to record you shooting these foam things. And now, Nerf has an RC vehicle that shoots foam things and records video of it at the same time.

Hasbro's Nerf N-Strike Elite Terrascout RC Drone Blaster, coming in the fall, looks like a mini tank. It's an RC offroading vehicle that can roam around and fire up to 18 foam darts at a time. Hasbro just announced this newest Terrascout -- check out the exclusive image below.

This ominous-looking thing's coming in the fall.

But it also has its own camera with a live video feed that displays on the remote, so kids (or you, dear reader) can navigate remotely using the included remote control with its own video screen.

Hasbro already makes several video-equipped toys, from the Battlescout Blaster rifle to a stand-alone Nerf camera. This is the first time the company has paired an RC vehicle to a video camera, however.

The Terrascout also records 720p video, so you'll be able to save that surprise ambush on the neighbors for posterity. The whole kit costs $200, and no, I don't intend on letting my son ever become aware that this thing exists. (UK and Australian prices have yet to be announced, but that converts to around £140 or AU$270.)

Things were simpler when Nerf just made foam balls.

A closer look at the included remote.

The Terrascout can go in all terrain...but not water.
