Multiple Users security leak re NetWare

CNET staff
An MSNBC article (thanks, Frank Rivera) comments on anothervariation on the Multiple Users security leak (see previous item in Troubleshooting Mac OS 9):
When NetWare users log out from Mac OS 9, all of their NetWare NDS connections remain active and open to subsequent users.

This vulnerability won't endanger AppleShare servers, and it won't open your local machine to any unwelcome mischief. However, it leaves the door wide open to your NetWare servers, especially if you utilize Mac OS 9's password-free Guest account feature.

A work-around: To ensure that you've logged out of NetWare, simply do so before logging out of Mac OS 9. Just click on the NetWare tree from your Apple task bar and select Log Out Completely.
