Microsoft Chief Product Officer Panos Panay said the Surface Pro 6 is 67 percent more powerful than the previous model, 2017's Surface Pro, and will start at $899. The Surface Pro 6 will also start at £879 in the UK and AU$1,349 in Australia.
The Surface Laptop 2 will start at $999. UK and Australia pricing wasn't immediately available, but converts roughly to £770 and AU$1,390.
Both will be available on Oct. 16. As expected, the new models are mostly modest spec refreshes and some new colors, including matte black. Anyone looking for radical redesigns -- or even the addition of USB-C -- will need to wait for 2019, at least.
Perhaps the biggest surprise of the day was the unveiling of new noise-cancelling headphones. The new Surface Headphones are full-on Bose competitors, with active noise cancellation and a hefty price tag of $350.
