Plenty of room--for pictures and food. KitchenAid

Very few kitchen appliances operate in the "on" position all day, every day. The refrigerator is definitely one appliance you leave on 24-7. While they may not make refrigerators with an "off" switch, they do make them to be energy-efficient and user-friendly. When it comes to a substantial purchase that is always in use, it's the little things that matter.

The new KitchenAid French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator is a model update that provides more user-friendly features. Interior space is increased from 25-cubic-feet to 27-cubic-feet, allowing for greater ease in both storing and selecting food items. The interior is illuminated with LED lighting that is designed to increase coverage, allowing for better visibility even when fully stocked. Storage compartments include a pantry drawer with independent temperature control and a crisper designed for humidity control.

Perhaps most striking about the refrigerator are the chrome accents and set-in LCD panel. Set above an integrated water-and-ice dispenser, the control panel features the options for measurement conversions and common substitutions. Also included are a kitchen timer and the ability to externally control temperature settings. A USB port rounds out the user-friendly features, allowing for owners to upload their own photos--but don't worry, with the fridge as the always-on centerpiece of the kitchen, there's still enough room on the door to hang up the kids' paintings.

The new refrigerator will be available starting in April at a suggested retail price of $2,799.
