iDVD 5.0.x: Problems burning/saving iMovie HD 5.0.x projects

We continue to receive a number of reports concerning an inability to burn iMovie HD 5.0.x projects DVDs or save disk images in iDVD 5.0.x

One reader writes "I've built a small iMovie HD project and poured it into iDVD 05.  When I try to burn it or save as disk image I get an error message about "Unable to complete Track initialization".  I also received an 'Error 1' message once.  'Error 1' is, of course, meaningless and provides the user no hint as to what he might have done wrong. As a result, my iDVD is useless."
