And now for something completely different.

You might not know it from the seemingly endless parade of tablets, headphones and Bluetooth speakers around here, but I'm always on the lookout for new, interesting and unique deals to share.

Like this one: for a limited time, and while supplies last, Loftek is offering its Outdoor PowerBank portable LED work light for $54.99 shipped. That's after applying coupon code PIZSNR8N at checkout. Cheapskate exclusive!

A work light? What's techie about that? Well, the LEDs, for one. But more important, the Outdoor PowerBank relies on a rechargeable battery (which is what makes it portable), and that battery features a USB port that can juice up your phone.

Specifically, it's a 4,400mAh lithium battery, so it can either give you 3-4 hours of light or recharge a smartphone once or twice. (Plan on something in the middle if you end up doing both.)

As you can see from the photo, the PowerBank itself looks like a traditional work-light, all yellow with black accents, but blasted with a shrink-ray set to "adorable." It's great for working in tight spaces, like when you're vacuuming out the car or futzing with the cords behind your entertainment center. And speaking of cords, it's extremely liberating to have a free-standing light like this that doesn't require AC power.

I won't say it's super-bright, though its LED array throws the equivalent of a 100-watt halogen bulb. You can't light a room with it, but it supplies plenty of illumination when you're working on, say, a plumbing job under the sink.

I also like the sealed rocker switch and covered USB port, which allow the PowerBank to work even in wet conditions (see above). And the included car charger lets you top off the battery while you're traveling between job sites.

This is a really nifty item, and potentially a great gift for the handyman in your life. If you're an Amazon Prime customer, you should have no trouble getting this by December 24. Thoughts?

Bonus deal: Game time, times two! And it's all action, all the time. First up, GameStop has Battlefield 4 (PC) for just $4.99. It's the download version, and you'll need an Origin account to activate it. Also for download, Humble Bundle offers Saints Row IV (PC) for $4.99. Said our sister site GameSpot of the latter: "[Its] crazy missions, fun superpowers and funny writing make it an enjoyable way to live out your destructive fantasies." Sold.
