Disappearing cursor in Safari, Classic (#4): more suggested solutions

CNET staff

We continue to receive reports of cursors that "disappear" when browsing in Safari or when using Classic applications in the Classic environment; these behaviors appear to be independent of one another.

Safari cache solution Reader Richard March submitted a solution we haven't yet covered:

"I've had the missing cursor since 10.3.4. I found that emptying Safari Cache brings it back."

Classic fix? Reader Kurt Kroeger reports that the (nearly decade-old) TSM Fix extension, available from MacFixIt's OS 9 Utilities page, fixes problems with the cursor disappearing in Classic applications; the extension needs to be installed in the OS 9 System Folder used by the Classic environment. We haven't experienced these Classic cursor problems in-house, so we can't test this fix; we welcome feedback from readers
