Apple releases Security Update 2005-007 v1.1, fixes 64-bit bug
On Tuesday, Apple released Security Update 2005-007, a significant package that included enhancements to a broad array of a Mac OS X components. Unfortunately, the update broke support for 64-bit applications under Mac OS X 10.4.2 (Tiger) -- an issue first identified by Wolfram Research (makers of Mathematica) and later confirmed by a number of MacFixIt readers.
Apple has now released Security Update 2005-007 v.1.1, a revised version of the security patch that restores the ability to run native 64-bit applications.
