Ferrari FF 2012

In brief

Ferrari promised a new top-of-the-range car that would break with tradition and, we guess, this is what they meant — the new Ferrari FF.

With styling reminiscent of the BMW Z3 Coupe that was dubbed the breadvan, the FF has seating for four people. According to the company, FF stands for Ferrari Four (four seats and four-wheel drive).

As yet, nothing has been revealed about the FF's cabin tech package. Boot space is rated a 450 litres and can grow to 800 litres when the rear seats are folded down. The interior will be swathed in aniline leather and can be customised to the owner's liking.

The FF will be powered by a 485kW/683Nm 6.3-litre V12 that sends power to all four wheels via a dual-clutch transmission. With a dry weight of 1790kg, the FF can go from zero to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds, reach a top speed of 335km/h and, in EU testing, drink 15.4L/100km when driven with superhuman levels of restraint.

In the video below you can see and hear the FF in action, as well catch a few quick glimpses of the interior.

The car will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, with the first cars arriving down under in early 2012. Pricing and specifications will, of course, be announced closer to that date, although some media reports suggest that the car will be priced close to AU$900,000.
