Yahoo! Platinum not compatible with Macs

Several MacFixIt readers have begun discovering that Yahoo's new "Platinum" service, which includes video clips and other media, is only compatible with Windows-based systems.

Users are presented with the following message when attempting to sign up for the service:

"We have detected that your current system may not meet the minimum requirements needed for you to use Yahoo! Platinum. Please refer to the table below."

The table lists a PC with a 233MHz or faster processor (Intel Pentium II or greater) as the minimum requirement, and makes no mention of the Mac or Mac OS X.

Yahoo! Platinum requires both RealOne Player and Windows Media Player 7.1, both of which are available for Mac OS X.
