Wine fridge for your viewing pleasure

While most people prefer to gaze upon the television screen during their downtime, some have rather more, uh, sophisticated viewing tastes. As in tastes comparable to their palates. Turns out, directly comparable. For those who need to mix their viewing habits more in tune with their oenophilic tendencies, there is a solution. Mount a wine cabinet next to the TV.

Ridiculous, you say? Well, wine is commonly thought of as best stored in wine cellars, but many options do exist for the modern home or apartment. While most wine refrigeration units are designed to simply be an effective means of storage, there are options that choose to highlight the wine (read: show it off). Additionally for homeowners, there is an option to create your own wine cellar. For those that wish to blend storage and display, the Liebherr HWS 1800 might be the way to go.

The stainless-steel integrated wine cabinet rests at eye level and is at once a centerpiece and refrigeration unit. Holding 18 bottles of wine, the modular chiller features a recessed handle for flush mounting with cabinetry. The UV-coated insulated glass door houses two sliding solid beech wood shelves, while the interior is bathed in a dimmable low energy LED light. The temperature is adjustable from 41 degrees F to 68 degrees F, and the unit also includes an activated charcoal filter to soak up any unwanted odors. What you prefer to watch, however, is entirely up to you. Something tells me that if this is the wine fridge for you, you won't be watching channel two (as in Two Buck Chuck.) Available fall 2009.
