VLC media player finally reaches 1.0

For over eight years, the VideoLAN Client project has been releasing, testing, and releasing sub-1.0 versions of their popular "Jack-of-all-media" VLC Player software.

For over eight years, the VideoLAN Client project has been releasing, testing, and releasing sub-1.0 versions of their popular "Jack-of-all-media" VLC Player software.

From VLC's Web site:

"VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols."
