Verax solution for loud Power Mac G4 MDDs shipping in two weeks, taking reservations

Veraxfans.com, the North American distributor for Verax products, let us know that they are taking pre-orders for their "Veraxed Mac" Quiet Kit.

"We will be in Germany visiting Verax the first week of April and we will place the initial order as soon as they will accept it. To get your name on the list just send an e-mail to sales@veraxfans.com with your contact info and how many you want. We will contact you via e-mail when they are shipped from Germany. You should then place a firm order on our Web site and we will ship to you as soon as they land in the US.

Apple attempted to address the notorious Power Macintosh G4 MDD (mirrored drive door) noise issue in the form of a hardware fix that can be self-installed, or applied by an Apple authorized technician. However, after ordering the new power supply noise fix, users received the message that the replacement would only begin shipping in limited quantities on March 10 - and it could take an additional 4-6 weeks after that for the units to arrive in users' hands.

With March 10th already past, we have received only a scant number of reports that the US$ 19.95 kits have actually made it to customers.
