Server maker Unisys paid $11.5 million to purchase the security and information management assets of e-commence software maker ePresence. Unisys has provided identity management services to government and corporate customers in the past through partnerships rather than its own products.

The agreement, announced Thursday, includes technologies for storing identity data in company directories, sharing data for single sign-on systems, and connecting with other corporate applications to quickly give employees needed network access. Consulting and service personnel will be transferred as part of the deal.
