UMAX VistaScan 3.1 update: yet another follow-up

Following up on last week's report: A reader received word from UMAX that the UK and US versions of the UMAX VistaScan 3.1 update are not the same. It was not made clear what the differences were. However, several readers have noted that the US version is about half the size of the UK version. One reader suggested that this was because the USB and SCSI versions are combined in the UK download but not in the US one. However, I have not confirmed this.

Update: Dale Yamashita writes: "The reason that the UK version is bigger is that there are several more languages supported." Peter Lin and John Chan concur.

For those readers reporting problems installing the update, several of them wrote that trying to install with Extensions Off (as suggested here last time) was not successful.
