An assortment of reader-reported items on StuffIt Deluxe that mainly looks back on unresolved issues from previous versions (indirectly suggesting that maybe there are not many new issues to report - which is good news):

FinderPop work-around Alemany Home writes regarding the conflict between StuffIt 5.5 and FinderPop, especially freezes or crashes while accessing CMM: "The issue is most likely that FinderPop is trying to read Stuffit 5.5 archives. To fix this, uncheck FinderPop's "Treat Stuffit Deluxe archives like folders" option." As we mentioned before, this is confirmed on the FinderPop web page.

SpaceSaver gone Bryan Goesling had a problem with Navigation Services. He eventually traced it to SpaceSaver, as confirmed by an Aladdin web page.

More generally the StuffIt Deluxe 5.15/5.5 Read Me file states: "StuffIt SpaceSaver is no longer a part of the StuffIt Deluxe package. SpaceSaver was designed to save disk space at a time when disk drives (internal, external, and removable) were very expensive. Large volume hard disks and storage media are now inexpensive in comparison to the trade-offs made while using SpaceSaver. Aladdin Systems does not recommend using SpaceSaver on any Mac OS 8.0 or higher."

Russian OS and TFI bug still present A MacFixIt reader notes that a previously reported bug, where TFI didn't load in Russian Mac OS (in which Cyrillic script is primary, and US script is secondary), is still present in the latest updates. The Fool StuffIt Deluxe extension may still serve as a work-around.

Archive bug still present? Nigel Perry notes that the StuffIt Deluxe corrupt archive bug is still listed on Aladdin's site with no indication as to whether the latest updates fix this. We are checking.
