Troubleshooting Kiplinger TaxCut

CNET staff
A reader reports the following bugs (and work-arounds) in Kiplinger TaxCut Macintosh Deluxe 2001 running in OS X:

Double-clicking a TaxCut file (created with TaxCut 2001) does not open the file. TaxCut is launched but no window is opened. It is also not possible to open an existing file using the File/Open menu item unless an untitled window is displayed. The work-around is to open the application, which displays an untitled window, and then to use File/Open to open the desired file.

Importing last year's data results in the interview going back one or two steps with no indication that the import was successful. The import was successful but it took me a while to figure that out. They should provide an indication that the import was successful and, as they did in previous years, allow the user to review the imported data.
