Troubleshooting Final Cut Pro: IOEXperts driver conflict

Problems with Final Cut Pro 3 'Unexpected Quits' when selecting the 'Log and Capture' function are ins some cases due to the presence of the IOExperts driver for FireWire web cameras.

MacFixIt reader Chris writes "I've tried everything, and finally I've found that removing the IOExperts driver that I have for my FireWire 'Fire-i' webcam solves the problem.  At least I think I?ve removed it...I removed the IOXperts Unibrain Fire.component from the /Library/Components directory...and the IOExperts directory from the /Library/Application Support directory.  Now log and capture (in Final Cut Pro) works perfectly."
