Swedish church taps military drones to drop Bibles on ISIS
Evangelical church plans to drop thousands of electronic copies of the Bible over Syria, an area wracked by religious-inspired violence.

An Evangelical church in Sweden plans to use military drones to try to persuade Muslims in Syria to convert to Christianity.
But instead of using the unmanned aerial vehicles to drop bombs, Livets Ord plans to drop Bibles -- thousands of electronic copies -- over the region wracked by religious-inspired violence in recent years. The church, whose name translates to "Word of Life," demonstrated drone technology before its congregation in late July.
"@livetsord will start using military drones, three meters wide, to drop thousands of electronic Bibles over closed areas in the Middle East," the church said in an Instagram post translated by The Washington Post. "Let's pray the message of God's love in Christ will conquer that of darkness and hate!"
The potential of delivery drones has attracted wide attention in recent years. Retailers such as Amazon and Walmart hope to use unmanned aerial vehicles to speedily deliver packages to customers.
The Bibles, which are expected to be dropped from a high altitude over Syria in the coming weeks, are about the size of a pillbox and feature a digital display.
